Miss Tan Yit Peng started as a secondary school teacher and was Head of Department for Science at Balestier Hill Secondary School. She was the Vice-Principal of Gongshang Primary School and then Coral Primary School before joining Northoaks Primary.

She believes that each child is a unique individual and that all children can be encouraged to learn and grow when provided with developmentally appropriate experiences. It is her belief that curiosity and the desire to be challenged reside deeply in all children, and when cultivated, leads them to a life-long engagement in learning. She strives to ensure that students are provided with a safe and nurturing environment that will spark passion in their learning and cultivate depth in their character.

Ms Evelyn Lee
Vice-Principal (Admin)

Ms Evelyn Lee graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies (Human Resource Management) from NTU in 1998. She has been with the Ministry of Education (MOE) for more than a decade including 2 stints in schools as an Admin Manager. Much of her career was spent at the MOE HQ, specialising in Human Resource work. She was Vice-Principal (Admin) at Wellington Primary School before joining Northoaks Primary.

She believes that every child can learn and will be able to excel in their respective area when given the right opportunities and guidance. While academic excellence is important, it is equally important to note that there is a lot of learning beyond the classrooms which explains the need for our children to be exposed to as many co-curriculum activities as possible, so as to realise their fullest potential and evoke the passion in them. As a mother as well as a fellow educator, she firmly believes that our current school landscape provides the system and rigour to enable all our children to be able to succeed in life while not forgetting to be active contributors to society.

Mrs Hee Jun-Lynn

Mrs Hee Jun-Lynn joined Northoaks Primary School in December 2019 after her first stint as a Vice-Principal in Jiemin Primary School.

School is a major part of our young children’s lives and Mrs Hee enjoys being part of the pupils’ learning experience. She believes very strongly that each child is different and every child who passes through our hands deserves the best from us.

One of her favourite quotes from Stacia Tauscher, We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today.”  She feels that while it is important to plan for our children’s future, we also need to focus on what we can do to help our children feel positive about themselves so that their high self-esteem will propel them to strive for and work diligently towards any goal that they have set out for themselves. In this way, the children will be able to accomplish much more independently.

Mrs Hee is grateful for the opportunity to join the Northoaks big family and is looking forward to working closely with all staff and parents to help our pupils be their best selves, extend kindness to others and always have that sense of curiosity to learn more about things around them.
