Character & Citizenship Education
Programme for Active Learning for Primary 1 and Primary 2
This programme consists of modules in four broad areas: Sports, Outdoor Education, Performing Arts (Music and Dance) and Visual Arts.
It focuses mainly on engaged learning and teaching the whole child via a strong teacher-and-student relationship so as to equip our young with the necessary skills and values to thrive in a fast-changing and globalised future.
The Leader in Me Programme
The programme inculcates in students good habits based on the book “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Stephen Covey. The Leader in MeTM programme helps to equip students with the essential life skills and self-confidence students will need to thrive in the 21st century. Our students learn about these habits throughout the academic year, both during the Form Teachers Guidance Periods (FTGP) and Pre-assembly Programme.
Parents may go to Leader in Me and click on the Parent’s Place tab to look for useful ideas to reinforce their children’s learning at home.
Here are some of our students’ learning from the programme!
Student Values-in-Action Programme
Students who display exemplary behaviour of the school’s core values are recognised and rewarded in the annual H.E.A.R.T. Awards. After this ceremony, these students will champion the school’s values as H.E.A.R.T. Ambassadors of their respective classes.
Project H.E.A.R.T. is an annual campaign to help students demonstrate the school’s core values and the 7 Habits in the The Leader-in-MeTM Programme. Fun activities are conducted for students to apply the core values and the 7 Habits in authentic settings.
Workshops for Parents
To equip parents with the relevant skills and knowledge to support their child in character development, the school conducts workshops for parents. Some of the workshops conducted are:
- Promoting the Mental Well-being of Our Children (2017) – conducted by our School Counsellor
- Love Literate (2018) – conducted by External Party
- Understanding Our Children’s Digital Space (2019) – conducted by our School Counsellor
